Aderes takes your privacy seriously. This privacy policy covers how Aderes treats personally identifiable information that it collects and receives. Examples of personally identifiable information are your name, address, email address, or phone number, as well as information that is not otherwise publicly available.
General
Aderes collects information about you when you sign up such as your
name, address, zip code and telephone number. This information is stored in
a database along with other account information such as your username and
password in encrypted and plain text format. Aderes also inherently holds your email address. This information
is kept confidential and is never distributed or sold to third parties. Aderes
will never collect or store credit card information.
Cookies
Like many websites, Aderes uses small bits of data stored by the web
browser called cookies. These cookies are used for various purposes.
- Authentication Cookies: These cookies are used to authenticate you to the Aderes.net server and provide you with an advanced way to stay logged in to your account while automatically logging out when you close the browser. These cookies never contain personally identifiable data.
- Web Browsing Cookies: These specific cookies are generated by the Secure Web Browsing facility and store your authentication to other websites which you have accessed through this facility or third party cookies which you have chosen to accept. These cookies may or may not be deleted after the browsing session is over depending on the settings provided by the third party.
- Web Mail Cookies: The Web Mail facility provided as part of the Aderes.net service uses cookies for identification, which are identical to the "Authentication Cookies" listed above. These cookies never contain personally identifiable data.
- Shopping Cart Cookies: When signing up for service, the shopping cart facility uses cookies to track which services are selected during the payment process. These cookies are deleted as soon as a payment has been made.
Log Files
Various log files are kept at different stages for your security and
ours.
- The Aderes.net Secure Web Browsing facility keeps logs of web activity for the "Accountability Partner" feature. These logs contain all sites a user has visited in the last 30 days, after which they are automatically removed.
- The Aderes.net web and mail servers keep access logs. These logs are compressed and "rotated". Therefore, the Aderes.net service holds access logs for several weeks, at which point they are deleted. This enables us to keep track of access, including potentially illegal or threatening "hack attempts".
- Optionally and by default, a user's IP address may be logged upon login. This may be disabled via the Settings menu item.
Disclosure
Aderes will comply with any U.S. federal investigation and supply log
files or access records if required by law or in the good-faith belief that
such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law or comply
with legal process served on Aderes.
Updating or Removal
Aderes will update a user's information on request, providing there
is reasonable evidence that this information is not forged or falsified. Aderes
will promptly remove any user's information from the database on request. This
effectively cancels a membership. However, this does not release the
user from any previous commitments and subscription payments in the current
billing cycle, nor does it automatically flush the Aderes logs from any activity
of this user.
Children
Children under the age of 13 are not allowed to subscribe to the Aderes.net
services. A credit card is used during the sign-up process to verify age. If
sign-up was not performed online, Aderes will make a reasonable effort to ensure
the user is not a child. Thus, Aderes does not collect any information
on or about children.
Confidentiality
All of your e-mail correspondence is considered strictly confidential
and will never be shared or divulged unless required by law, nor will it be
read by Aderes personnel. Additionally, your web browsing logs will never be viewed by
Aderes nor shared with any third party except those specified as "Accountability
Partners" in your settings. As part of group packages, clients
may request the ability to view their employee's history. If your account was
given to you as part of a group package, this may be in effect. Contact support@aderes.net
if you would like to know if your employer has requested this feature.
Changes
Aderes reserves the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time.
If there are significant changes, Aderes will inform all members at the time
of the change.
